How I made $250 from 1 email [full breakdown]

Last Sunday I held my first workshop. Ever.

And it was DOPE!

Had tons of fun meeting some of you.

I might do another one (on a different topic) in the future.

Anyways…

In order to promote that thang, I sent out the following email:

“[Announcement] Scale to 4-figs/mo in 30 days?”

This email alone made me $250.

So today I want to go over some of the copywriting tactics I’ve used to make this email SELL.

Let’s see how it goes.

The original email (slightly shortened) will be in italic letters and my notes/breakdown will be in bold.

==========

I’m launching a workshop.

A LIVE 2-hour training where I show you exactly how to scale your brand to 4-figures per month in the next 30 days.

Without spamming cold DM’s or selling your pet puppy to afford an expensive mentor.

Note: Okay. This was a HARD sales email. I didn’t fuck around and waste any time (one could say… I cut the crap). Notice how I immediately hook with the outcome “4 figs in 30 days”? Also, notice how I immediately address 2 common objections. This is how quick you’ve gotta be with conveying value.

It took me 4 months to make my first $ on X.

  • Tons of failures
  • Tons of sleepless nights
  • Tons of doubts & limiting beliefs

But once I figured out a simple 4-step process…

I went from $0 → $3,000/mo in ~50 days.

Note: Make people aware of the COST it took you to come up with the solution and contrast that with how little effort they’ll have to put in (by paying you).

Also, a little flex to establish credibility.

And that’s exactly what I’ll teach you in my workshop.

[...]

You DON’T need a big audience.

You DON’T need case studies or testimonials.

You DON’T even need to have a fully developed skillset yet.

Even if you’re starting from ZERO, this workshop will help you make your first $1,000+ in 30 days.

Note: Positioning my workshop as a SIMPLE solution to my ICP’s problems.

But more importantly… I’m addressing common objections: Small audience, no skillset, no social proof. Address objections as EARLY as possible.

The best part?

I’ve made it super affordable.

I usually charge $749/mo for these systems (that’s what my 1-on-1 costs).

But I’m literally giving you the same exact roadmap for only $97.

Note: Again… usually a high-cost investment, but I’m giving you the solution for less. Increases perceived value.

(I’m naming the price very early here. That’s only useful for low-ticket products. With high-ticket, you’ll have to do more trust-building).

But I’ll do you one better…

The first 5 people to sign up will get a discount of 50%.

That’s $49 for a crystal-clear roadmap for monetizing and scaling your brand.

[...]

Note: URGENCY!!! Give people a reason to act RIGHT NOW!

The first 60-90 minutes will equip you with all the actionable theory you need to monetize & scale your brand.

Which includes:

  • Crafting an irresistible high-ticket offer (even if you don’t have a skill yet)
  • Building an irreplaceable brand that does the selling for you (without posting more than 2x/day)
  • Using your content to make people trust you & become a household name (my client used this system to get inbound leads in his 1st month on X)
  • Getting your offer in front of people without appearing salesy
  • Converting prospects into clients easily with my plug-and-play sales script

[...]

Bullet formula: Feature + Benefit + Objection Handling

This is not set in stone, but can see that I’m using at least 2 components in each bullet. (Always highlight the benefit!)

Who is this for?

Anyone who runs a personal brand & wants to monetize their skills.

That could be:

[...]

Any service provider - from newbie to advanced - who wants to sign more clients from their personal brand.

Note: Establishing who this IS for. One thing I also should have done here is tell people who this is NOT for - this adds a level of exclusivity. You need to alienate certain groups to attract the right ones.

Will I be able to ask specific questions about my brand?

100%

The last 30 minutes are dedicated to exactly that. No matter how small your question, I’ll take the necessary time to answer it. Even if it means we’ll go for longer than 30 mins.

Note: Simple objection handling. The easiest way to do this is by asking a question the prospect might have.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. If you’re not fully satisfied with what you learned in the workshop, you’ll get a full refund immediately - no questions asked.

That’s how confident I am in this system.

Note: Strong risk-reversal. A must for any offer.

But there’s a catch…

I’m only accepting 15 people to the workshop.

Why?

I want everyone to have ALL their questions answered at the end of the workshop. That’s only possible if I limit the number of spots.

And remember…

The first 5 people to sign up will get a 50% discount.

Note: Some more scarcity & urgency. Get them to ACT. Make sure to include a LOGICAL reason for why you’re adding scarcity & urgency. Your audience ain’t stupid.

[And then I transition to a simple CTA]

[If you want to] get access to ALL of the systems I usually charge $1,000s for…

Reply with “workshop” & I’ll send you the full details.

Note: Once more increasing the perceived value and closing it off with a crystal clear CTA. (Your CTA hast to be SUPER clear - always).

==========

Alrighty.

I have no fucken clue if this was helpful or not.

In my mind, this concept of breaking down my own copy seemed pretty cool haha.

Let me know what you think by replying to this email (takes you 2 seconds - but helps me tremendously).

Anyway, I’ll hit you with TONS more value these upcoming weeks.

Stay tuned,

Tim <3
